Is not good for us. Keeping Cunha and the new manager improving them .

Poll: Who would you like to be manager out of these?

No different to us they should be winning it,

Beating them at PR will be vital. More so than Southampton.

2 foreign goals scorers (and 2 foreign assists) v 4 English goal scorers for us yesterday, does illustrate primarily where we’re behind and will still take time to catch up. Before that overseas scouting network is really up to par with the others, they’re getting probably for the most part, better players for a fraction of the cost. Brighton the most successful example

Are they? Who have they bought that's better than what we've got for less? According to transfermarkt they've spent slightly less than us this season and so far they have been similarly as bad as us. Cunha cost them more than twice as much as Delap cost us but I'd argue that their values are going to be at a similar level. I haven't really followed their business to closely, so I'm happy to be corrected.

What is your evidence that they are getting it together now?

I agree that they lose Cunha for a prolonged period they are in trouble.

Their new manager has 10 points from 8 matches for them. In the last 6 matches they have 4 points. I hope that level of progress continues.

They will be alright at the end of the season, we just have to learn from the mistakes in recruitment and learn to better adjust our style of football and tactics to the top flight if we do come back up again. We should have learnt more from Burnley though, as they essentially tried the same thing and were relegated too.

Did I miss our relegation? I thought we were 3 points from safety with 14 games left of the season. My sleep last night must've been significantly longer than I thought!

Some seem to have a double view that we are underachieving and stand no chance of staying up. Now we have a goalkeeper who looks solid, I am confident we will gain more points that in previous matches we have thrown away. There is no reason why we shouldn't stay up in my view.

We’ve lost the mental battle. We came out against Southampton looking beat before the game got going, and looked accepting of it at final whistle. We played to pattern, lacked fight and inspiration, it was the same against Brighton, against City and Liverpool it was overawe and just enjoying the occasion. If we weren’t motivated to beat the arguably worst team in the Premier League historically, at home, when we were a point away from safety then there’s no way we’re going to win many more points this season. The heads have gone, the fight isn’t there, even at 2-1 down with minutes left on the clock we reverted to passing around at the back.

We’ve won one at home all season. That’s telling. No amount of dressing it up, keeping the faith or “best young coach in the country” is going to make a difference. We’ve recruited poorly for this level, paying way over the odds for players who were at Hull, Sunderland, Blackburn and Burnley last season, our tactics have been wrong for this league, there’s been mistakes with dropping form players, and our system hasn’t improved our chances of staying up and the result is, in a low point relegation battle, we’re still going down. There’s no fairytale here unfortunately. The players know it, and there’s no shame in it, it was always a step too far for us anyway. What matters now is what happens next.

Stop being so fickle, 4 PL games ago we were out of the relegation zone and everyone was thinking we were heading for safety. 4 games ago...we have 14 games left. Form will be inconsistent for all teams around us as it has been all season. We are still in touch, as long as it stays that way until the last day it can all change.

You could try supporting the team rather than Catastrophizing all the time, you would probably find your outlook on life improving too if you did.

In the main as you say most of their players were only slightly lower in terms of fees, but the success of Brighton, Bournemouth, Brentford etc (and wolves a bit more historically rather than right now) has been built around their overseas network that for us, after the pitiful Marcus Evans years, I still something that will take time to catch up on.

Wolves also have to go to Liverpool next weekend and Man City….and Southampton who have bigger all to play for and seem to motivate themselves for upsets :)

It’s far from done.

Not this crap again. Give it a rest mate, at least until after the Villa game.
