Training Ground Upgrade 19:08 - Mar 17 with 1513 views | Churchman | Maybe this has been talked about, but I’ve not spotted it. I notice approval has been given and the work will start on Playford Road in the near future. I happen to think such things are important, for the club to grow do anything in the future it has to improve on stuff like this. We went into this season with the worst facilities in the Premier League. I’m guessing by a country mile, given Southampton and Leicester spent so long in it. Does it matter? does it make a difference? I think it does in many different ways going forward. Anyway, a bit of good news amongst the disappointment and abuse being served up.

The plans look very interesting. I’ve absolutely no idea how a modern professional football club works on the ‘inside’. It’s a long way from mouldy showers, greasy benches, a peg if you are lucky, smelly kit, clattering boots, ralgex and greasy gritty floors of local league rubbish that I stumbled around in.😃 [Post edited 17 Mar 20:30]

Leicester in particular spent a fortune on theirs and have a really high end operation, we were light years behind and it's a real success story that we're now making inroads.

wasn't it basically the same cost as Harry Maguire's sale, it looked top class from memory

Hard to believe that anyone would have turned down the opportunity to play for Super Kieron McKenna because they didn't like ours, but I suppose that's pampered footballers these days.
| I was there when McKenna's ITFC won in the Premier League at Home. Fewest home wins and equal most home defeats in a season in ITFC history. |
