The remainder of 24/25 09:03 - Apr 6 with 625 views | Zonderman | Must admit I am fine today. Sure I am disappointed we lost yesterday but I felt we were cooked after that defeat at home to Saints in early Feb. Never saw us coming back from that one which has proved to be the case. I read the captain and manager’s comments regarding playing for points for the sake of the fans over the last seven games but we definitely have a part to play too. Let’s make sure we really enjoy this part of the ride. It was always highly likely to be just one season and some of the fan bases’s showings have been excellent. A great example was the Bournemouth game on Wednesday night with almost non stop noise from start to finish. A number of other forums have contained comment over the season indicating they have been impressed with our support so let’s not let that slide as we exit in the right way. There’s so much to still be optimistic about with our club moving forward and a million miles from those dark years under Evans. Next season is likely to be a lot of fun but I am determined not to let the rest of 24-25 go with a whimper. COYB !

It's been coming all season and let's be honest staying up in reality was a long shot. I don't see the fans turning unless results turn into heavy defeats. There will be Bob Marley, fancy dress etc and the hope that next year we can turn 1 home win to 1 home defeat and have a great year. Oddly, now it is as good as confirmed I don't feel so bad. that said can't wait to see the back of half and halfers and VAR.

This is a separate point really but it's still mad to think we only lost one home game last season.

It just highlights the gulf between the two leagues. We've had opportunities to turn draws (or even defeats) into a few more home wins but we'd probably still be looking at no more than 5 home wins for a side that overwhelmed almost everyone we played at PR last season.

I can’t see us fans turning either. Sure you get some stupid comments on here straight after a loss, but that’s probably just the raw emotion plus a bit of a lack of emotional intelligence/resilience kicking in. It’s to be expected as football is all about emotions. But overall the vast majority of fans understand there’s a gap and why there’s a gap. It’s not for want of trying or hard work by everyone. It’s just the way it is and sport can be brutal.

And most of the negative comments straight after the final whistle are from people who aren't at the game anyway. PR has remained mostly positive despite everything.
