How did it take 5 minutes if the Champions League has semi-automated offside and why did the referee go over to the monitor, watch the replays of a foul and then give offside?

Well, that's a fairly easy answer isn't it?
It's due to the endless complaining from over entitled managers and supporters, constantly demanding the 'right' decision and 'consistency', which isn't possible. I still always go back to Charlie Austin's Parklife rant and then Warnock going OTT over a freak decision he was on the wrong end of. Numpties. | |

Also constantly tinkering with the Laws of the Game and introducing many more subjective elements. I’m not sure whether that’s with a genuine attempt to make the game fairer, or if it’s in the name of creating drama and talking points to drive clicks/media engagement.
I’d like the correct decisions, as so much rides on it now. I don’t want games paused for 5 minutes though while they measure offsides in pixels. |  |

But almost all of it is subjective. Even offsides, supposedly a black and white process, can be subjective.
The only thing that works is goal line technology. | |
