Feels like the fun starts now. 17:09 - Apr 26 with 758 viewsFromReuserWithLove

Let's start shaping up for the best league in the world. Gonna be tough but at least entertaining.

I think I'm probably massively deluded, but I'm really looking forward to this summer of rebuilding and ploughing on into the championship as one of the big boys.

I can really see us taking steps with the lessons we've learned and reshaping out team a la Burley back in the day. The obvious need for a new midfield and a striker I see as a bonus, it needed addressing and we have a clean slate to bring in 4/5 exciting new players ready to challenge and push us on.

Bring it on!!

Keeping Kieran is key but if he does go, I hope he goes quickly.

Not really best league anymore is it though?.

Current top 3 all have parachute payments. It's great for us trying to get back up, depressing for the rest.

Yeah, it all needs to go like a well oiled machine now. As you say McKenna needs to absolutely commit to the cause or go, obviously preferably stay and crack on. Then we need to figure out who's staying and who's going, again all easier said than done. But that's crucial too. Then crack on and use our money and slightly better profile to take full advantage of the market and get the replacements in.
I know football doesn't work like any of that, but if we get anywhere close I can see us really storming it and that's got to be the sell to McKenna, Hutch, O'Shea and the like, as well as new arrivals, we're strengthening for another crack at the prem, not downgrading for the league below.

When we went down in 2002 we had no advantage because of administration, then we spent about 10 years trying to compete with teams with parachute money (it wasn't that big an advantage compared to the premier league riches today but we never got that lucky playoff season)

So I'm looking forward to finally competing over other teams in the Championship with a financial advantage.

Poll: Who do you blame for our failure to progress?

Just want to finish top of our mini-league of relegated teams, for what it's worth.

A win at Leicester is doable, be nice to get at least one more home win too, especially against the ammers.

Can't really think about next season before we know if Keirons still here, and which players we have/add.

Poll: So what do we think will happen with MM and the Aston Villa job?

The irony is I think what happened to us, Derby and Leicester post relegation is why parachute payments were brought in in the first place. After the collapse of ITV Digital all three teams went into administration across 2002/03.

Poll: Who would you play at right centre back on Saturday?
