Any chance with numerous clubs looking at him, we can hold out for a better price? or is it 30mil and Delap chooses who he joins?

Prepared to be whooshed here, I know the fee is 30m, but how much control would itfc have over sell on clauses, appearance bonuses etc for his new club? You'd imagine England call ups etc wpuld be more likely if he's at chelsea. Or is none of that possible?

How much explanation does the term 'release clause' need?

I know that was then, but it could be again..

MA said that the club was protected with this deal so how the release clause is actually executed might well offer the club protection - this could well be how and when payments are received or include further add-ons within the release clause.

What I’m trying to say is that I haven’t a clue.

You try explaining that calmly to the indignant cat which has sunk its talons into your chopper when you've tried to eject it from your comfortable and tailor-made lap!

(note clever last five letters when considering the slightly odd compound adjective used at the end.)

I'm a submissive fool to this.

I see a thread titled 'Delap' and still inexplicably click on it.

On this subject I am slightly confused at how a loan the other way of Guiu can possibly be 'part of the deal' when the only deal there can be when there's a release clause is "hey we'll take him for £30M, thanks!"

Unless Delap himself is saying he'll sign but only if they send one the other way which seems unlikely.

There could still be negotiations over payment terms. The £30m we have to accept would be an amount up front. This is the issue United and Wolves are having over Cunha at the moment

Simple, whatever the loan fee is agreed at, that makes up part of the £30m they have to pay. Delap can still choose not to go there
