How does investment work exactly when they can't invest? 16:31 - Jul 9 with 985 viewsFrimleyBlue

I'm just assuming when they mention investing its mainly about spending on training ground, ground refurbs as they can't actually put any money into the playing squad

Is that right?

There’s the small thing on expanding 2 of the stands. That’s going to take a LOT of capital.

Only using the incoming finances rather than investor funds tho isn't it?

Ground improvements don’t count towards FFP rules, so can be spent as we like. Anything spent on players does count towards FFP, so being back in the Championship next season, that is capped at £13M/yr, £8M of which can be owner underwritten.

It’s a bit more complicated than that, because it’s the rolling 3yr loss that you look at, but basically no - £200M investment is not counted as profit, to be spent on the squad. The owners would already be committed to putting in the maximum allowed anyway, so this £200M will have no affect on our ability to sign players at a higher value.

Investment I don’t think is considered as revenue

if as written they are looking to raise 200m in investment i doubt that investment will be for playing staff, some will go to who dilutes shares prob ORG for those shares which will make them more profit on their original stake of 40m, like last time we got investment selling to bright path that was some to ORG and some to develop the training ground, given the talk of improvements of the cobbold stand and therefore increasing the value of the club players dont always do that, i would expect ORG to get some and maybe some for ground improvements and therefore an increased revenues and club value.

I assume that PSPRS wants to reduce its stake, at a considerable profit. It sold about 40% of its original stake a year ago. I don't interpret this as any new money actually going into the club. Perhaps I am wrong?

it might might not im basing off the lastt time they sold their stake some of the money went to them and to build the training ground, so possible the same could happen here where ORG get some and some goes to improving the club.
