Just driven back from Penzance 14:55 - Aug 3 with 1482 views | Cheltenham_Blue | Horrible drive, but could console myself with the thought of logging in and getting some good news. I think I might just log out til Saturday, see who plays Friday and then read about who’s signed and who hasn’t on the weekend.

Just driven back from Penzance on 17:13 - Aug 3 with 1144 views | TheBlueGnu | I too have driven back from Cornwall today. A horrid journey, chiefly because the M5 was blocked by a roaming Morris dancing troupe on hover stilts reenacting the Siege of Framlingham. I finally reached the M4, only to be trapped behind a rogue ice cream van operated by retired otters from Stroud, selling “pistachio with a hint of existential dread.” Tried the M5–M6–A14 combo, but was waylaid near Coventry by the Annual Flat Cap Regatta (Northbound), judged by Fiona Bruce and a steam-powered badger. At least I can now log in and check whether Sir Ian McKellen is fit enough to fill in at left-back at Birmingham on Friday.

Just driven back from Penzance on 20:22 - Aug 3 with 941 views | BlueForYou | Had a very pleasant 7 hour drive from St Ives to West Suffolk. 7 hours drive time. Via M5/M4/M25/M11. Slight hold up around Weston Super Mare. Pretty good. Went down via Birmingham as was recommended by a friend but no thanks. That took 9 hours!

That's bollux - it was definitely Hugh Skully, but I suppose it's an easy mistake to make.

That's fair, I hold my hands up - I did indeed make an error, it WAS Hugh Skully - but accompanied by a cardboard cut-out of Geoffrey Whitehead.

If you mean Hugh Scully then it has to be said he was doing very well for someone who left us almost a decade ago: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hugh_Scully

True story back in the day I’d stayed in Perranporth (Seiners Arms) and it had rained everyday for two weeks. Which was ok staying in a pub,but it got a bit boring in the end.We decided to leave early as we’d had enough, the drive home was awful as far as I can remember it rained most of the way. We got to Indian Queens and the sad news came through on the radio that Lady Di had died. What a terrible end to a poxy two weeks in Cornwall.

You're correct, of course. Retrospectively I kind of stand by my spelling given, as you say, his likely current state.
