Good on you, seems to be a growing trend of delaying everything for as long as possible, then just as you're about to exchange they're coming in with these re negotiations.

They've already got a good price and they're probably in for £3k - £4k of sunk money by way of survey and legal costs (as am I on my purchase). If they ask for more off I'll tell them to suck it, matter of principle at that point matt
| selling a home is interesting on 21:23 - Nov 5 with 901 views | peterleeblue | The whole buying and selling process is just a load of B******. I’ve decided just to stay put and opt out. At some point I’ll have to engage again. But not for another 15 years or so hopefully. | | | |
| selling a home is interesting on 21:29 - Nov 5 with 859 views | Swansea_Blue | Sellers (and buyers) are just at the mercy of supply/demand, the appeal of the property and then really random stuff on top. I sold my dad’s place well over value because some old dear wanted to be near her family who lived a few doors up and also happened to be minted. I sold my own last place at a loss because the market was pants and there was nothing special about the house. A nice house in a desirable area helps, but otherwise it’s Russian Roulette. | |

Likewise. If I agree a deal that’s the deal. I’ve always held to that and will do so again. Potential buyers are warned when the deal is agreed. Anyone pulling that stunt will be told to do one (we will be selling the brother in law’s house at some point) and don’t come back.

I told them no, and I was pulling out of the deal. They then moaned that they had spent money on fees and searches, and they would lose it, and offered the original agreed price. I said, 'Tough luck, that's not the way to behave.' I pulled out and put the property back on the market. I found another seller within a week who offered more money for the property.
