I’m the same , that point yesterday gives us that extra incentive to get it done before Saturday ….quietly confidant.

We do have a decent record against some of the more ‘footballing’ sides (I hate that phrase, football comes in many form and there’s no right answer). There’s an argument it might suit us a little bit more, on what will be a lovely surface for playing through the pitch.

Fatigue is a factor for us for sure, but in this instance it’s the same for both teams. Their schedule has been no less gruelling than our own really.

Our task is straightforward, no worries about goal difference (barring anything ridiculous, which won’t happen), or playing for a point and what not. It’s a good opportunity to go away to a good side and express ourselves and try to get that win.

Was curious how bizarre it would have to be for GD to matter, i.e any scenario that isn't us vs Millwall, as that is impossible for us to lose without match fixing. It would require:

Southampton to beat us, then draw on the final day
Boro to either lose or draw on the final day
Millwall to lose.
Us to lose against Southampton and QPR.

Would be absolutely bonkers, having all challengers trying to throw it in unison to end up with a 3/4 way tie.

Same here.

1-1 until 96th min. Southampton send keeper up knowing they need to win. O'Shea clears it, McAteer runs with it as Clarke breaks with him. Bree chases back and is about to bring McAteer down but hesitates as he remembers the play offs and 3 game ban. The hesitation just gives McAteer enough time to square it to Clarke who runs the final ten yards and taps it in.

Scenes on the pitch. Scenes in the dugout. Scenes in the stands. Scenes on rival forums.

Clarke under a 20 man pile of bodies. Re-emerges like Lazarus, adjusts his hairband and looks nonchalant as O'Shea and Taylor go fooking mental.

"IT'S HAPPENED AGAIN, IT'S HAPPENED AGAIN, SOUTHAMPTON, IT'S HAPPENED AGAIN" thunders out from the away end.

I have a feeling the same but then I am generally optimistic when it comes to Town.

Ultimately we have given ourselves that leeway which means failing to win is far from the end. A draw would remove Southampton from the equation and leave Boro needing us to lose and them win (or, if we draw, to win by at least 5 goals - not sure what would happen if it were exactly 5 as we could have identical records then). A draw on Tuesday would be enough to keep ahead of Millwall too if they fail to beat Oxford on the final day.

I don't want to go into the last game needing something because anything can happen but it is in our hands at any rate.
