Its felt like an utter slog 15:06 - May 2 with 521 viewswaveneyblue

On and off the pitch this feels like the hardest promotion we've ever achieved.

Amazing effort by the boys who have been written off so many times by both opposition and our own fans.

Even today it cant be fully enjoyed due to the bleating by the usual suspects on here.

Im off to enjoy it.

Well done boys, Im so very very proud of you.

Too right, wouldn't want today tarnished by people backhandedly taking swipes at other posters on here. Couldn't be me.

Too right it's been a slog but we've come out on the right side under a huge pressure of expectation and that matters.

Hopefully lessons learnt and ironed out during the season in preparation of making a good Stab at staying up.

I'm delighted, I really thought after failing to beat Boro we were destined for the playoffs and huge credit McKenna for getting it over the line as he always does

Promotion is never easy and I’m dead proud of the whole team, especially with all the expectation on us to walk the league. Massive day

It has felt and been like that for a lot of the season, but there could be an irony in all of it. Doggedness, willingness to slog it out, not letting defeats/substandard performances totally derail us, rather like a boxer who gets put down on the canvas more than once but refuses to give in. They could well be some of the sort of qualities we will need next season.

Just for now though, let's enjoy the moment before the crazy rumour mill cranks into full swing pretty soon. Well done to Keiran, his staff and the team!

Whatever team you are getting out of the Championship is one hell of a slog. Especially when you have so many games in the last month.
Did we win second place or did others lose it.
It could be argued both apply.
Apart from the odd blip we were consistent whilst the likes of Millwall, Boro,Wrexham all failed. Probably due to our superior squad because despite a few not performing as we would wish players like Azon, Burns, McAteer,Taylor and Matusiwa all worked hard. We owe a lot to the defence also where the odd injury meant players coming in or switching positions which they coped with admirably.
We can all see where strengthening needs to take place and I feel we need to move a few on and bring in around half a dozen players.
