Any accountants out there who can explain in layman's terms why a new company, Gamechanger Holdings Ltd, was incorporated on 29th May '26 according to Companies House?
Directors are Laura McCallum, Mark Ashton, Tom Ball and Luke Werhun.
Gamechanger Holdings Ltd replaced Gamechanger 20 Ltd as a person with significant control of Ipswich Town FC Company Ltd on 9th June '26. |  | | |  |

Looking at GC20 they look like they're just 'tidying stuff' up with shares, possibly share premium account along with satisfaction of charge completed, although some documents not available yet as only added today, likely in advance of freeing up reserves for a spending spree ;-) (seriously though, could be any number of reasons)
Sometimes company structures are unnecessarily complex or they need to be more complex, the new company GCH only has 2 shares in issue and both of those are held by GC20, could be that they're transferring some part of the club to GCH, odd that there's only 2 shares, so doesn't suggest anything investor related otherwise you'd build in more flexibility immediately, but that too can be altered later.
Would need to see the docs submitted to know more, defo something planned as it's not usual stuff, but not unexpected now we're in the PL and they may dictate parts of this....who knows? |  | | |

Wouldn't have thought so.
Thought i'd take a look at the accounts of GC20.
There's 195m in the share premium account and -99m in the p&l reserves. You need reserves to distribute funds, so they 'might' be moving that about to create positive reserves of around 95m...with the caveat this was as of Jun 2025 and things may have moved a lot since then.
Doesn't mean they can spend that as it's not new cash, but gives flexibility on being able to distribute what they do have. | | | |
