That's good news for us - imo.

Poll: Right now, who would you rather have as Prime Minister?

If I had signed a 6+ year contract with Chelsea, that they had to keep paying after sacking me, while I'm out of a job, I think I'd be taking a break too.

Poll: If we go up, which new striker would you like us to sign?

This.

Was also the reason Potter didn’t come back to management for so long after he got tinned.

Strongly suspect along same lines that we won’t see Kieran for a while either and I doubt he’ll even be allowed to do punditry per terms of his settlement as technically that is considered “working”.

Unlike Rosenior and Potter, though, it is Kieran who is tearing up the contract, so I doubt he will be resting on his laurels enjoying a hefty pay off.

He can do whatever he wants.

But somebody will need to pay the 8m if they want to hire him within the next 12 months - this point seems widely acknowledged now.

And I would guess that also includes punditry work.

I hear that's all the rage.

I would do exactly the same on a big fat Chelsea contract

Just shows you how outrageously well paid these managers are. I wouldnt mind £1m a year ( not a chance of that lol), let alone £5-6m. I mean for any of us on here just one season at these pay rates would set any of us up for life wouldn't it....

It is true that they are very well paid, but I imagine that their agents ramp up the wage demands because the managerial market is so volatile. You are the first one to take the fall if everyone on your team are not getting the results on the pitch, so I guess they deserve a financial buffer on one hand.

On the other hand, the managers (mostly) choose the players and tactics, so they do have to be held accountable.

But business is business. Getting a great manager in requires the big bucks!

I have no problem with the Rosenior from before he joined Chelsea but he didn't seem right mentally from the moment he stepped in the door and faced all the abuse without being given a chance. Aside from the terms of the pay off mentioned above, I think he could do with the break and a chance to reset and get himself in the right place.

When he does return to management (if he does) I hope he is given the chance he was never given at Chelsea.

There was certainly a time when he might have been a leading candidate for me. That time isnt now weve reached the PL.
