Oh and the one thing that really get's my goat, " It's a massive club ", sometimes said by players who have signed for clubs in League One or even lower. As for kissing the badge, I loved the comment from the former player Benoit Assou Ekotto, who was famously known for openly declaring that he played for the money it provided for him and his family, and had little to no love of the game itself.

" It infuriates me when footballers go on about playing for the shirt. I think they should be held accountable for it when they kiss the badge and six months later clear off for a better pay day "
