If you remember at Xmas that season we were in the top two. Now I think it was probably unlikely that an extra cash injection would have seen us win automatic promotion - but it may have done or at least meant we would have claimed our play-off place before the end of the season instead of limping over the line (remember we only got there from a screw up from Derby). More importantly it would given us a better chance of defeating the scum in the play-offs (they had a superior set of players to us which became clear by then end of the two games).
