They were talking about as they called in the 'sad demise of Ipswich Town'. Went from 30,000 full stadium, taking on Man Utd and Tottenham going toe to toe, from now just reaching over half capacity whilst taking on Barnsley and Burton Albion on Tuesday nights. Said the club is massively in need of someone to come in and pump some money into the club.

Also a West Ham fan saying the failings of this year so far is the fact Mark Noble is now sat in the stands and the release of James Collins, the only two players who wore the West Ham shirt with pride, would be a very good addition James Collins.

Yeah, but you can't trust a West Ham fan's opinion about anything related to football.

Was really interested in the comments regarding Collins

West Ham fans wanted him to re-sign to organise their back line - they clearly rate him.

Have a family member who is a WHU fan and he is gutted about James Collins, said he was the only leader in their defence options, him and Joe Hart only vocal figureheads last year, also said with so many new faces this summer, Collins and Noble would have been vital to embed them into West Ham, and none of them are to be seen at the moment. Although heard Noble stormed the dressing room after Wolves even though he wasn't in the match day squad and gave every single player a piece of his mind.

But Collins could help us considering we have similarly transitioned so many players into the squad, we needs leaders in the dressing room: Chambers, Collins, Walters and Skuse could help massively.

Can we just employ him as Team Morale Officer then? Give him some pom poms and have him pump the players up in the dressing room prior to kick off?

Hard to listen to I know when others speak about the club in this manner, but it is how others see us currently and in all fairness it is hard to disagree especially when they look at the table and see us languishing in the bottom 3, without a win. Naturally, they are going to compare the present with our past glories. In all honesty, we've just been treading water the last couple of seasons and this one looks our toughest challenge in recent years.

I thought at the friendly at Town Mark Noble showed Wilshire how to run a midfield, he was and still is a fantastic player and it was good to see him as a youngster at Town as well.

Town better get the Collins deal done ASAP, before West Ham sack Pellegrini, bring in Big Sam and, re-sign the player.

Mark Noble would be a great signing here as well.

About the "pumping money" in bit. It's weird that we are owned by one of the richest men in the country already, I don't see who else could come in and buy it although agree that if Evans was to sell, it probably suit everyone best as he wouldn't have to focus any more of his time and resources on the football any longer.

We've seen no fruit from the 5 point plan - we're not even meeting the Academy players in the team targets we set ourselves.

The reality is Evans doesn't want to invest any more than he is at present and the end result could be pretty damning. I noticed he's dropped his branding form the shirts/sponsorship income as well.

It's time to make the best of it.

what are they referring to with "30,000 full stadium" We've only got close to that twice I think in the last couple of decades. Arsenal in the league cup semi-final and Leeds in the Royle era.

Think there is a more to a player who has played so much at the highest level, as well as on the international stage. But his experience will help out the team immensely, especially with the drastic overhaul we have undergone.

Play off semi, Southampton in cup (it was them that didn't sell out) but yes not many

Talk sport nonsense. It may be a true point but you could argue the same for no end of teams.

Nottingham Forest
Sheffield Wednesday
Leeds
Sunderland
Aston Villa

All traditionally big clubs knocking around the same leauge as us for far to long.

Collins looks useful, and by reading some of the comments in this thread it seems he could be a bit more than just stopping attacks - he can motivate/encourage etc.

But I’m more worried about chance creation and scoring goals rather than stopping them; our goalkeeper(s) have faced the least amount of shots in the whole league, just a shame the majority of them are going in... Also wasn’t the stat that was going round something like 7 out of 9 goals conceded were from set pieces, which is basically saying we aren’t getting run down in open play, it just means we haven’t mastered how to defend set pieces, which can be worked on in training. Think he was either speaking in a broader sense as lower league opposition. Or using the example that we played them both on Tuesday night last year.
