I expect Lamberts new deal to be performance related i.e. if he doesn't cut the 14:42 - Jan 5 with 1477 viewsbobbyramsey

....mustard he'll be bombed out without a penny. He'll only be here for as long as he is successful starting from sometime soon........

Nobody just throws five year deals around without an exit strategy. So, it might not be all doom and gloom?

You’d hope so, but this is Marcus Evans you’re talking about so I doubt it.

Expect to be disappointed then. Football managers are far better rewarded for failure than success.

Nah, not even Evans is that stupid. Do you really expect to see Lambo here in five years time? He'll be long gone with a flea in his ear...

...and a big payoff because his contract's been terminated early.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Why would Lambert sign that deal? No manager signs a deal when they have 18 months left unless it's for something better their side.

The "better" bit is the possibility of five years .....he's a Scott, they love a gamble.

Well we dont know what his original contract was .Remember he was very negative on more than once . I suspect his contract was and maybe still is similar to PH's maybe performance related with something like a 3 or 6 month pay off if all does not go well .

Either way Lambert in his current situation is not signing a new deal that makes him worse off than his previous contract. No one would. If he done well he'd naturally get another contract anyway.

Five years IS more attractive than 18 months BUT it may come with some gambles.

Evans would not give a five year deal based on the last two months without some kind of "get out" clause. He may not be a football man but he's certainly not stupid.....
