If nothing else, these last few months have made me realise I actually couldn't give 2 sh1ts about football. Don't get me wrong I love watching us play, but I couldn't really care less what division we're in. And there's actually a pretty compelling argument in favour of L1 vs. the higher echelons of English football, that's increasingly unwatchable and unlikable. Lambert or not, I'm really not fussed.
The amount of media attention and column inches that football is getting throughout this is actually a bit abhorrent I think. Of course livelihoods rely on football being a thing, but many more are in other sports, or wider sectors such as the arts, theatre, music etc. Not to mention retail and hospitality that remain closed. The Premier League needs to get over itself. | | | |
