This is a shame. on 21:00 - Jun 6 with 1147 views | Chrisd | Don’t get me wrong, what the majority of the protestors are representing is completely right, but the manner in which it is being done needs to be challenged. The chaos being caused, the callous defacing of historical artefacts amongst other things, I believe the message will soon get diluted and there will be little gained. Just appears the minority are jumping on the bandwagon #blacklivesmatter and see it as a reason to cause mayhem with little regard for what the real message is, their actions are only serving to weaken the real protestors stance and will ultimately hinder the wheels of change. I might be on my own here. [Post edited 6 Jun 2020 21:05]

This is a shame. on 21:53 - Jun 6 with 1017 views | The_Major | Idiots. Brain dead scum. It doesn't matter what the cause is, left or right, whenever there's a big demo in London, there's also some element of cowardly inadequates wanting to cause trouble. 99% of the folk protesting in London today did so peacefully, as they knew that not doing so would send out completely the wrong message. But now we know what the headlines will be. And the whole point of the day is lost in the image of a spooked horse running loose down Whitehall. Whoever threw whatever it was at the poor beast, I hope you're pleased with yourself. And now it's caused more resentment. It's caused those who are inadequate enough themselves to think that one group of people are superior to the other based on skin pigmentation to say "See? Told you so" At a time when we need to be coming together. Why the hell can't we? Why is it so difficult to say "I don't care what colour your skin is, which God, if any, you choose to worship, what bit of dirt you were born on, who you decide to have sexy fun time with, or indeed what type of wobbly bits you have (or would prefer to have) to facilitate that". I just cannot get my head around it. And for people to purposely to say they DO care strikes me as the viewpoint of a social inadequate. We have to do better than this. We have to be better than this. And those who lead us need to do so by example. Sorry, I've bored you enough. I'll shut up now.

How do you know someone threw something at her? Seems speculative. And I’m glad she’s ok. There were loads of protests all over the country today, pretty much all peaceful. 14 arrests in London, which is well below the average number of arrests per day. Well below. There may well have been some idiots, but this one event shouldn’t detract from a peaceful series of protests. Sky aren’t helping with their emotive language.

It's noticeable how some people appear more annoyed by the looting and rioting that seem to run alongside some of the protesting, than they are about the killings of innocent [black] people. You don't seem to see the same long posts each time that happens. I don't support wanton looting or rioting either fwit, but that really shouldn't be the main focus each time.
