Hi Phil, how long left on Downes contract? Are you aware if club are looking to pin him down?
I imagine it will be tough to hold in to him. Got to be our primary asset right niw but we are better covered in midfield at least. |  |

Was told not given the contract is effectively until 2023. Woolfenden's contract was more about getting him up to a wage in line with his status as a regular first teamer as he was only just making his mark at that level when he signed his previous deal. |  | | |

I don't think so either (but you never know). He's plenty good enough for a decent Champinship or a yoyo PL/Championship club though. | |

I think you may be right about Downes & Woolfie as Championship clubs will also be hugely cash strapped & they don't look ready for the Premier League yet. I doubt we will sign Garbutt - we have 40 pros on our books & a Championship club will surely offer a free agent like him a better contract than us. |  |

I do agree his best is left midfield with Kenlock seemingly not up to it PL had very little option but to play him there . In an ideal world we would sign a decent left back and re sign Garbutt as well but with finances tight dont hold your breath . | | | |
