You never know - it might have something to do with increased testing.... particularly testing people who have been in contact with people who have the disease As with maany things in life, including socks, you dont find things if you dont look for them where they actually are

Approximately 30,000 new Covid cases a week - 50% up on last week on 15:38 - Jul 31 with 1561 views | Bluedandy | Baloney ... OP is lazy scaremongering. For the week in question there were small increases in COVID-19 activity noted in England across a number of surveillance indicators. Case detections in England increased from 4,062 in week 29 to 4,130 in week 30. At a local authority level, activity was highest in Blackburn and Darwen where incidence has continued to increase. Activity in Leicester continued to decrease. Case detections were highest in adults aged 85 and over. That's according to PHE .... here's the full report https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attac

So the ONS are wrong? Literally just reporting what they have said and they are a damn sight more reliable than the ‘official’ stats. And yes we are testing more, but that just means we have more chance of finding it. The underlying, undetected cases are there and that is what the ONS is reporting on. The Trump defence of if we didn’t test it goes away isn’t going to work.

Ha ha... Bring up the name Trump and somehow that magically validates your nonsense. You literally have not got a clue because you can't be arsed to read the data. Hey ho if wallowing in the pornograpy of catastrophe is what floats your boat then sail away buddy.

No you are not wrong - but the uptick is definitely likely linked to all the local lockdowns and increased testing in those areas rather than a huge growth across the country at the moment. And crucially, we are over two weeks on from pubs etc opening and not seen a macro increases in cases and deaths have not really increased at all. We are probably at a tipping point though, with lots of holidays and travelling in August. I can see schools not opening in Sep.

Approximately 30,000 new Covid cases a week - 50% up on last week on 08:55 - Aug 1 with 978 views | TractorWood | Maybe a bit alarmist. Some restrictions have come in around the Greater Manchester area as cases tick upwards there. As we eased this was always going to happen. As you say, just can't lose control so that it shreds through communities again. Government are taking it seriously and finally being a bit more decisive. BoJo is a clown but we are looking slightly more competent as an outfit. However, the bar was set quite low by the herd immunity stage, the massive contracts to pest control businesses, Cummings-gate, PPE from Turkey that was useless, massive delay in lockdown etc etc. I've no idea why we don't have an app though. The world spends their lives on their phone, so no idea why we have people calling people when we could just use notifications.
