That'll be another 3 month injury to the list then

If we're keeping Ndaba here to cover then it does rather suggest the injury is going to be longer term than they've been making out.

Or it is precautionary because:

a) Being in the older age range for a footballer it is reasonable to expect Ward to take longer to recover after knocks - he could play tomorrow but he would not be one hundred per cent fit so a one hundred percent fit Kenlock is better than a ninety percent fit Ward

b) Nbada is approaching readiness for first team football so the opportunity to blood him is more likely if Ward or Kenlock succumb to long term injuries this season

c) Ward was never intended to play every game when he signed.

Achilles injuries can be so complex, look at KVY's injury and he doesn't look like he's returning for the foreseeable either. With regards to Ward, perhaps they were hoping it might be a week or two initially, but sadly I think we'll be looking at something which will be a lot longer.

Under basement price Evans for years we have signed injury prone or older players. They get injured.

Not been commented much upon, but Ward was rested for the Arsenal and Fulham games whereas Chambers wasn’t - and can’t be just to give Kenlock games as Donacien in same situation.

Does that suggest he was carrying something? Or not up to 3 games in a week as it is

That's a good point. Chambers has generally been good for 40 games plus every season, even into his 30s. He's had relatively few injuries and seems to be very fit and robust. Maybe there are some underlying issues with Ward and he needs a bit more nursing through the season.

I hope he's back soon though, he's so much better than Kenlock and it would be good to send Ndaba out to play regular football if possible, and ideally at League 2 level rather than a youth loan to a non-league side.

Not necessarily, and I don't hear anything to suggest it's anything too significant. If Kenlock got injured then they'd look daft if they'd just sent Ndaba out on loan. Illustrates that PL doesn't view Donacien as someone who could cover at left-back, though.

Does he view him as someone who can cover a right back?

He seems solid enough there, if unspectacular?

Only just about, I think. I would guess they would have off-loaded him if they could have done.

I don't think he views Donacien as a professional footballer.

Which is strange as he had him on the bench in the Premier League when he was Villa manager.
