The brexit shambles continues 11:58 - Nov 11 with 844 viewsHARRY10

"A “haulier handbook” to prevent Brexit border meltdown on 1 January has been delayed and will not be ready for another month, it has been revealed. The guide to the mountain of new red tape required to transport goods was promised in early September — but will now not be available in full until 7 December, little more than three weeks before it is needed."

"The vast new port checks will be necessary even if the UK and the EU strike a trade deal, because leaving the single market and customs union will end the free-flow of goods that takes place now.

When the 2016 referendum was held, Brexit campaigners repeatedly denied such checks would be required — but they are now described as inevitable, under the prime minister's clean-break plans. "

It is us, the consumer, that has the concern. Just as with foodstuffs moving from GB to NI that will incur checks after 1st Jan

There seems to be this rather naive assumption that it will all somehow sort itself out..... it won't

"J Sainsbury and Marks & Spencer have warned that certain lines of meat, fish and dairy products may be restricted because of the checks that will be imposed on food and animals entering Northern Ireland from Great Britain from 1 January."

And, for example, Covid vaccines? How the fck will they be shipped in and processed if the whole of Kent is one big traffic jam?

Or, for that matter, shipped out to other countries if British firms produce viable vaccines?

If there was some indication that the impending chaos was being dealt with, and so reducing that chaos, it might be a slightly growing light ahead,

But all evidence is that far from meeting targets the UK is failing to meet even the most basic of requirements to deal with the staggering 4 million extra forms per week that will be required in January.

The non existence of Border Protection Posts for live animal exports and imports. The need for a huge increase in veterinary certification checks (500%), and virtually no clear direction to hauliers about what extra certification they will need to drive in the EU, in whether they will be one if the lesser number permitted.

For those thinking the shambles over test and trace, the lock downs and university/school exams were bad enough then as they say ' you ain't seen nothing yet'.

At least there isn't going to be any pressing need to transport anything important to the lives of thousands of people about in the next few months that has to be stored at -70 degrees.

Is there any sign that they've started printing any of the 4 million extra forms needed per week?

That's a lot of paper. And filing cabinets. Ooh, have they been to Staples and put the order in for the filing cabinets yet? Or are Ryman's getting the gig?

Chap I footy coach with has his own shipping business and has a "Brexit Shipping Expert" on a monthly retainer just sitting around awaiting Govt confirmation on matters now.

He's a Brexit Shipping Expert for a number of smaller shipping companies too, who also have him on a retainer. Cost to footy coach mate: £6k a month since August. For 2/3 days work.

Footy chap is a lifelong Tory voter who decided to tell a few home truths on Tom Hunt's facebook page (v polite, no sweary stuff) only to be blocked from posting anymore on there and his posts deleted.

The only acceptable posts on Tom's page on anything Brexit is "Rule Britannia", "that'll teach the remoaners" & "good work, Tom". All without a clue how this is effecting businesses caught up in the whole damn mess.

Please note: prior to hitting the post button, I've double checked for anything that could be construed as "Anti Semitic" and to the best of my knowledge it isn't. Anything deemed to be of a Xenophobic nature is therefore purely accidental or down to your own misconstruing.

No, that contract has already been awarded to an associate if Cummings- Barnard Castle stationers 51a Barnard Castle Hugh Street, with construction of the birder posts being handled by Four Seasons landscaping (UK 2021 Ltd)

Education Sec Gavin Williamson has been tasked with ensuring all forms are correctly checked and former MEP Claire Fox will ensure lorries go through the right tunnel.

Sounds just perfect
