We have Hawkins as a target man and then several strikers who can play off him.
We do lack wide midfielders, but you could still play a diamond in midfield. I think there’s a case for a diamond suiting our midfielders better anyway.
I am not unhappy with 433 but it’s clear that we struggle to penetrate the better sides with it. And jeez these are league one better sides, not championship or premier league. And we are so ponderous. Crewe showed us how sharp and fluid it can be but our players look like they are just playing it robotically.
Lambert is unlucky with injuries but the fact this is turning into Groundhog Day of last year suggests that it’s more than injuries. It’s partly bad coaching, bad tactics and not being able to get the best out of individuals. And in a bit of sourness that we saw with McCarthy and it’s all pointing to an exit sooner or later.

Even with injuries, it is a ludicrous thing to suggest. Yes it may need tweaking with but of the players available, Lambert had no confidence that he could effectively setup a team to play 442. Let that sink in.
Wtf does it say about his coaching ability. Or what he has achieved with the squad in 2 years.

We have a partnership of Norwood and Jackson that scored goals last season when played together. They also currently look like the most dangerous strikers we have.
We also constantly fail to create chances with the current system. |  |
