Well as long as he denied it. I’m guessing those nice Russians, at the height of the Cold War, would have seen the funny side to capturing British agents and simply let them go.

Must have been a tad strange for him, as his loyalties were to the Communist Soviet Union. But he lived long enough to see it dissolved and replaced with capitalism. Who knows what he thought of the present Russian state. | | | |
