That Jewell 5-3 match at Barnsley 20:59 - Jan 28 with 913 viewsITFC_nostalgia

Does anyone remember if there were managers linked at the time?

Mick was still at Wolves so wouldn’t have been an option.

I don't think so, even when Jewell left it was after a resignation so wasn't a man waiting in the wings like there was after Jim, Keane and Hurst.

I remember watching that thinking Jewell would resign at half-time. He looked completely bereft.

The belief was that Chris Hughton was being lined up.

He didn't it was not good on any front.

I was ready for PJ to go, but out of all of the ones fired I felt the most sorry for him. I bet you he came in with that sense of invincibility and excitement we get starting a new save on Football Manager.

By the end he looked pretty much how I feel after my first season playing ITFC in FM

Agree. Jewell was rubbish but I have no ill feeling towards him at all.

Fair play to Jewell, he recommended the only competent manager that Evans ever hired.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.
