If you’ve got a game three days later, you need to not dwell and move on pretty quickly for the next performance‘’ Perfect for getting over yet another sh1te display a few days before.

Her "joke" at the end of each episode of Only Connect is certainly detrimental to my health. Have you ever heard something so forced and rubbish? Gets worse every week as well. SB

...purely so that I can fast forward through the weekly bit where they "sing". It makes me want to kill people.

How negative is that statement? Imagine rephrasing it as "a chance to go on a winning run and building the momentum. When you are winning you want to keep playing." It is almost as if the psychology is set that we are going to lose a good number of games.

That's the only bit where I join in. On the sofa, singing along, arms swinging Wicker Man style. God I'm so bored.

...one of the highlights of the week is me saying to my wife "that's a nice dress" when Vic has her cleavage out, and my wife saying to me "that's a nice dress" when she doesn't. The winter evenings really have flown by. What a world, what a life. (lambert out)

Detrimental......? on 10:15 - Feb 15 with 433 views | LankHenners | So they wanted to play on Sunday but also didn’t because it wasn’t right for player welfare, and they didn’t want another midweek trip because they’ve had a lot of them already and don’t like it but they also thought it was a better option than playing on Sunday, which was the solution they apparently wanted in the first place. Glad we’re all clear on that now.

“I think the lads were willing to try and give it a go on the Sunday..." That's big of them. "all credit to them because I can put myself in their shoes and it’s a tough one to get your head around that quickly." Is it hard for a group of footballers to take on board they might play a game the following day? On a scale of 1- 10 how hard would that be do we think? I understand the point about not training the day before but you'd think they'd have enough to carry them through for one day. I'm sure there are valid reasons for not doing so but that seems a bit tame.

It doesn't really seem to be an issue when they often play Easter Saturday and then again Easter Monday with a 3pm kick off (and also the Christmas fixtures are sometimes just a day in between too). The Northampton game tomorrow is an evening kick-off, I believe, isn't it?

Well quite, and if you're weighing up pros and cons, that game still has to be played another time which means another long slog when they might be able to do without it. When you're already there you'd think you'd move hell and earth to get the job done. If the hotel situation was the reason and it wasn't doable, fine, then say that and stick to it. But the other stuff seems daft and starts to grate a bit.
