I'm no fan of Lambert but you can't really even blame him for their demise. You simply can't keep losing your better players and replacing them on a league two budget. Had a bit of inside information about them and I'm actually amazed they didn't drop down like we did. They are a mess."
Ours is one of if not the biggest budget in league one, where this idea we have a league two budget comes from is anyone's guess, but it doesn't help the narrative with Lambert, as the more comments like these get told, the more people like Jim White use it to frame thier futile arguments. |  |

I suppose it's the same everywhere, but, for a club that never won a significant trophy after 1960 some of them sure have some big illusions about what they were before the big takeover. |  |

They love themselves a bit don't they? I doubt many of them were even a twinkle in their dad's eye during Wolves' successful period. For most of my life they've been pretty sh1te, I can remember them being down in Division 4. The only real success they've had in recent times has been heavily bankrolled by someone who was prepared to pay Champions League money in the Championship, and they've still not matched our best finish in the Prem years despite being so well-resourced.
Don't get me wrong, Wolves are a decent sized club but I'd place them alongside a whole raft of clubs that also includes us where our natural level over the years has generally been flitting between the top 2 tiers with one fairly lengthy spell of sustained success in the top flight. They aren't the huge club they seem to think they are, certainly I've never seen them that way. And they know feck all if they're genuinely comparing us with Wigan, ffs.
