Why were we so poor v 10 men in the second half last night? 13:23 - Mar 3 with 877 views | Illinoisblue | Tiredness is the obvious answer with three tough games in 7 days. Assume Cook will freshen it up for Saturday.

Fair point. Just felt like half time came at the wrong time for us as we battered them the last 15 mins of first half

It's hard to instruct to much from the sidelines. Accrington needed HT to be able sit down and move a couple of players round and change their shape for the second half. They were very good in the fact they themselves kept high up the pitch which left us going further back despite your backline being asked to push forwards. The lack of energy and press certainly didnt help us second half

Were they unchanged for all 3 of those games?

Yes think that's the key point, half time halted our momentum some what. Had we had another 10 minutes it would've been 3 or 4.

Why were we so poor v 10 men in the second half last night? on 13:38 - Mar 3 with 752 views | Darth_Koont | As reuser says, AS played well and really stuck at it. Think there was a difference in confidence there (understandable considering the past year or two and how even our wins have been a little sketchy). The only time we looked good in the game (after a slow initial response) was when we were behind and had no choice but to come forward. And we continued it when we sensed that the equaliser rattled Accrington. The rest of the time we looked much more hesitant and not bold enough to push on. I think you’re right that tiredness might also be a factor but that should have been in our favour anyway 11 v 10. Cook can certainly consider resting a few after the past few weeks but really hope he gets to grips with the confidence of the group as a whole where we seem to be below par. Certainly compared to the competition.

Why were we so poor v 10 men in the second half last night? on 13:43 - Mar 3 with 705 views | Steve_M | A lot of tiredness definitely, particularly for Norwood and Parrott who have been good outlets in recent games. I thought we should have subbed those two earlier. I think Accrington's rather limited gameplan meant they weren't much less effective with 10 than 11 and, for all that we conceded possession too easily, we limited them to only one good chance. I think had we been better on the ball after half-time then we would have exploited the space like we did in the last 20 minutes of the first half. There were an awful lot of good positions lost by poor decision making and crap passes.

Dozzell was a bit guilty of this at times. Tried some very random passing techniques in the middle.

To be fair We have also been up to Hull, back to PR and then traveled again up to Accrington.. all that travel would of had a factor as not sure if we are staying overnight at places currently ?
