Here's a phrase that stood out from PC... 13:22 - Mar 5 with 1018 viewsBlueBadger

...'I have a clear style of play... that will be evident from day one'.

Did we EVER discover what 'the Lambert way' was?

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

....fart arse around with it at the back until you get caught in possession.

Lose.

From what we have been presented with from fans of his previous clubs he likes to play a 4231 and play a possession based style...doesnt sound too different to Lambert. But at least we will be able to understand Cook's interviews.

His teams appear to win games and score goals. It'll be nothing like Lambert's 'style'.

According to the Blue Monday pod, Wigan fans were saying it's tippy tappy and annoyingly, frustratingly so at times so you may yet be able to recycle some posts in six months or so when we're not top of the league.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

From talking to a Portsmouth supporter I worked with he also commented on times when there was plenty of possession but not much end product. He did add that when it is working Portsmouth could absolutely hammer opponents.

Something else he mentioned was Cook apparently encourages a drinking culture which hasn't gone down well in a few places and was one of the key reasons Portsmouth didn't keep him when their ownership changed.

He'll regret saying that when Chambers boots the ball out the ground on kick-off...

I nearly posted I hope his style doesn't depend on defenders being cool under pressure on the ball. But thought nah that'd be mean I'll leave it to Grzzly

True though. One of Lambert's (many) failings about trying to play out from the back was not realising our defenders can be somewhat, er, 'agricultural' compared to those in teams that successfully play that way.
