Yes, I do occasionally see them hunting around Mellis Common daytime. If the chicks need feeding, then they hunt any time of day.

Think it was about 10th May here (north Yorks) iirc, which is still a couple of weeks later than usual. Just the one, and heard it only 2-3 times more since then. Spring isn't really Spring for me till I have heard the first one!

I saw a barn owl this morning about 9am… you don’t to see them after early/mid morning

They’re like one of the big game of English Wildlife - a stunning creature
