In the context of everything else coming out of the club, the indulgence of Edwards makes very little sense to me.
Cook talks about "trust", but we're offering a contract to one of the least consistent senior players at the club. The incoming CEO talks about wanting players committed to the club and its project, but we're waiting around whilst Edwards looks for better offers. |  |

He will be free to leave when his contract is up, yes. But at present he's still under contract. It's fair enough to express the opinion that you wouldn't have offered him a new deal, of course. But I think anything else regarding the contract negotiations is just total speculation. There aren't many of us who would be devastated if he left, but let's just see what happens... |  | | |

There is something about Edwards, showed a great touch to score against Blackpool, 2nd top scorer in a crap team with 6. According to the BBC app played 39 games and most assists with a paltry 4. If those stats are accurate can see why we offered him a contract.
