YO left school this summer aiming to get a legal apprenticeship, 10 days before formally leaving school she got herself a pub job.

I told her that if she didn't get a legal apprenticeship by September I would find her A job. I knew of a job starting 31st August, she applied and duly got offered the job.

Decent salary for 18 year old, twice what the part-time pub job was paying.

Today I got home from work and YO was bouncing off the walls with excitement, the company she starts work with Tuesday have reassessed their pay structure and given the base level job a Â£3k pay rise...

I would also add she offered to pay rent, and as a former financial advisor I have also got her in the habit of 10% pension ISA and 10% instant savings account.
