Welp 06:52 - Sep 1 with 1265 views | chicoazul | That’s that then. Pretty staggering stuff signing 14 new permanent players in one window, and at least 3 of the loans look like they have potential to go perm too. Two good options for every position. Cook has got pretty much everything and everyone he wanted apart from Crook and Bradley. He will have 22 players he specifically wanted plus his keepers, it’ll be interesting if he does go to 22 actually as that would mean Nolan and Jackson being in there too. Now we need to give them a bit of time I suppose to knit it together but the good thing is Evans and Morsy know each other & the manager very well and I believe those two will be the ones to pull everything together now. Good times. Now for the Championship! Let’s get out of this hateful wasteland of a league!

Who am I forgetting..? 19 in, 3 of whom don’t count toward 22 - Barry and the keepers. The 6 balance we are keeping is Janoi Toto Woolf KVY Jackson and Nolan….isn’t it? Don’t get me wrong I struggle to see where either of them get in the 18 never mind the team. Edit; oh balls it’s Norwood isn’t it [Post edited 1 Sep 2021 7:29]

Yes, Norwood will be in as third choice striker behind Bonne and Pigott I imagine. I don't know if El Miz is an under 21 or not, but Humphreys seems to have impressed Cook so it may be Nolan misses out as we have some useful young options there. Cook also seems to like having lots of attacking options so may prefer having Jackson as a back up.

I'd expect Nolan to be the one to miss out too, given he hasn't been fit for a minute of football since Cook has been here and no signs of him being close to a return either.

In all fairness, he got injured the second Cook came in, but he strikes me as the sort of limp lettuce that won't last long once he is.

He’s training. But he now has a lot of very good players in the CM and 10 role ahead of him, whereas Jackson might offer us something a bit different if needed than Pig etc. So def Nolan to miss out for me too.

If Nolan’s injury isn’t serious , I think it will be Jackson left out. Has Bonne, Pigott, Norwood and Barry ahead of him, plus Aluko has played as a striker too, and Cooks preferred formation has only one striker. Jackson unproven as a winger and we have many many wingers ahead of him anyway. There are 3 midfielder roles Nolan can fill , and we have Evans Harper Morsy, Fraser Chaplin ahead of him, but midfielders especially Evans and Morsy will be more like,y to pick up bookings and get suspensions. So 6th choice as one of 3 mids vs 5th or 6th choice as a striker for 1 position. Much less cover at midfield and this is also the area that has looked weaker this season so far,

Presumably we'll see a mutual-consent parting of the ways with Jackson fairly promptly. Maybe both.
