Watching goals on 10:30 - Sep 12 with 990 views | clive_baker | It was so bad. We’ve got enough quality in attacking areas that we’ll score goals and create problems for teams, but defensively, organisationally and tactically we look dire. Not just yesterday either, it’s been evident all season yet seemingly not addressed at all and pulled apart with ease by a decent Bolton side. What has Cook and his team been working on, because that performance was so concerning. I saw people on twitter saying things along the lines of ‘whatever you think of Cook, it’s better than Lambert’. What planet are people on that a) being better than our worst ever side is in any way positive and b) it’s debatable that we are, even with all the money we’ve spent. It’s like we’ve accumulated a really talented squad but look completely lost tactically. I don’t know where we go from here, but it’s really concerning. Perhaps the answer is to give Cook some help, pronto. A #2 who is more defensively minded maybe, a McGreal even if it’s for a few months? Something needs to change, we look lost.

Yesterday was up there in my top 5 most awful home games as a Town fan. We were shocking, against a side that were in League 2 last season.

Watching goals on 10:50 - Sep 12 with 914 views | Vaughan8 | The 3rd and 4th goal were so bad and the KVY challenge for the penalty so needless. The 3rd goal, he didn't even have to cut in to shoot which is very strange and the marking for the 4th is awful. The 5th one is unlucky.

I'm worried Cook's backed himself into a corner over getting a number 2 and/or more experienced coach in the building - seemed pretty clear he wanted/expected Richardson to follow him at the end of last season but when that didn't happen he got a bit bullish 'I'm experienced enough now without needing an assistant' etc. Several times he's said he's happy with the staff, doesn't want an assistant etc. so he'll now have to take a hit on his pride to now go 'actually I do need some help' and he doesn't seem like someone who will readily do that, plus he may feel it won't make his scouse mates look very good. He has to do something though, as you say yesterday looked like we hadn't bothered to do any work on defensive shape, organisation etc. - the players looked completely lost on what to do out of possession and Bolton took full advantage of that.

Watching goals on 14:38 - Sep 12 with 716 views | portmanroadblue | Think the midfield is also to blame for the first two goals, left the defence wanting. Game was easy for Boltons Manager, get the boall out on the wings behind the wing backs and its two aginst one every time.
