Too many defensive errors from us - a big one each from Doancien, Toto and Edmundson and two poor kicks from Walton - but none of them punished. Not enough football, the three behind the striker - again - out of the game far too much. Edwards is too deep when he picks the ball up.
But then this is the third division and Portsmouth were no better Harness somehow missing when hitting the target looked easier from their one real chance and some comedy defending at the end.
Bonne though, such presence of mind. He's Marcus Stewart-like in his calmness in the area, that ball had all but gone out.

He's very Stewie-like in his movement and prowess/composure in the box. Doesn't drop as deep or link play up as much, but presses more. Love him.

Pretty crap from both teams at times - a fair amount of aimless balls forwards and the danger men on the pitch not seeing much of the ball.
However, sometimes at this level the game will be scrappy and you've just got to hold your own and take advantage when you get a chance which we've done so far but have failed to capitalise on it in most games so far. Hopefully tonight will be different.
Bonne really is a class above - nothing more he can do with his performances really, just need his teammates to catch up. |  |

We've been pretty poor. Very disjointed going forward and I'm still not sure what kind of team we're trying to be and what our style of play is meant to look like. Defensively still pretty ropey as you say, but not punished by a Pompey side who look as out of form as their recent results suggest. Bonne is excellent and our main bright spark, everything else ranges from pretty poor to okay at the minute. Happy we've got the lead, need to build on it. |  |
