Wasn’t he hinting about being bullied too? Or if not bullied, treated shabbily when injured. Forget his name.

I believe he's at Biggleswade Town, if that's the same guy.

Am acquainted with a former academy player from the same/similar age group. A lot of what was happening at Town at the time sounds far from ideal. The medical side especially.

Football is a numbers game, very few in each academy age group make it, that is not unique to Town, but generally. For the majority of U16s at most clubs, a career in non-league is as good as it gets.

My nephew was part of the youth coaching set up and his view was that the entire youth system virtually fell apart under Evans. No coordination, no support, no structure, no money, no links/pathway through the groups, just unprofessional in virtually every way - every good player being hoovered up by Norwich, whose youth set up was (maybe still is?) light years ahead of ours. Good kids living within a few miles of Portman Road preferring to train with Norwich, apparently.

A friend had a chat recently with a former Town employee. The former employee said if Evans could save 10p he would. Really feel for Lee O'Neill. Doing a job you've not got experience with is hard enough but with zero resources it is impossible.

I heard similar from someone involved during the Evans era, complete shambles, right down to the most basic stuff like transport not turning up to take players to games and kit not being ordered.
