Apparently can be traced back to a Steps concert at the SEC Hydro in Glasgow.

So you would imagine that in a country where vaccine passports are compulsory for gigs, that they would be even more vigilant in scanning peoples vaccine passports given recent events.

Mrs GB and I were at the Hydro last night for Madness and Squeeze. No vaccine passports checked. Not one person was asked to produce a vaccine passport.

My brother in law actually forgot his phone and went all the way home to get it for his vaccine passport app and missed Squeeze. He didn't need to bother.

Security were more concerned with searching bags and patting people down for booze.

Staggering in the context of recent events. There should be massive fines at the very least for the organisers IMO.

Is it coincidence that Omicron is an anagram of Moronic?

What were Squeeze like?

Back to their roots pub singalong band or pretentious luvvies?

They were great. Although Glen Tilbrook fancies himself as Jimmy Page during the solos in Slap & Tickle and Cool For Cats.

Not as indulgent as when I saw them at Wickerman about six years ago. Stayed mainly with the crowd pleasers.

Black Coffee In Bed is reinvented as a Northern Soul stomper which wouldn't sound out of place on Elvis Costello's Get Happy.

That's good to hear.

When I last saw them a couple of years back they were bloody awful, they managed to turn some great songs into a pile of sh1te.

...... Edit

And they were completely upstaged by Heaven 17

it's a tragedy!

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

that sounds pretty poor for the SEC, big venue like that should have appropriate policies. I saw Peat & Diesel at Queens Hall in Edinburgh the other week and was pleasantly surprised they were vigilant with vaccine passports

Vaccine passports rely on (a) the honesty of punters, and (b) venues checking them. I'm not convinced about (a) in some cases and I've certainly seen issues with (b) first hand and from reports like yours.

I'm not sure what the answer is. Most secure would be LFT tests on the door, but that's obviously logistically unrealistic.

They scan your ticket. It can be that hard to scan a vaccine passport as well.

Genuine question, when do they ever scan your vaccine passport (the domestic one).?Whenever I've been to any event that asked you to have one, I just bring up the pass on my phone and they visually inspect it. I have never had it scanned at numerous events, even when it's required!

Not sure what the English one is like but the NHS Scotland vaccine passport is a QR Code. However, there is an airplane icon which if you tap will give the full read out of all your vaccines. This is for when r=traveling to another country as they won't have the ability to scan the QR code.

All we've got is an easily forged card which is hand written by the nurse.

Or am I missing a very important document?

The NHS app gives a QR code similar to what GB described. I've only used the domestic one although there is an international one, I don't know the ins and outs. I don't think using that card we received when getting jabbed would be accepted at some of the events I've been to. They explicitly say if you don't have the app to request a letter from your GP (or the usual stuff about negative test results etc...

Oh blimey.

Sometimes I can be a bit stupid, is this the app that I deleted from my phone to stop me being pinged?

And......If I reinstall it will everything be updated and hunky dory - like magic?

Edit. I've downloaded it again and I think I just have to enter my results

No. Stupidly it's a DIFFERENT app. The app in question is the NHS app rather than the NHS covid app for pinging you. TBF the events I go to aren't the football, and some places seem to be far less strict than others. Not necessarily any reason to panic.

We have QR codes, but they're not scanned. You can print them out or have them on a phone. I've seen people lining up at the footie having ot checked and then passing it back to their mate behind. Pointless. Although I imagine most are playing by the rules.

Bloody Boris!

I think you have to add a booking reference - of which I don't have.

I'm not bothered about day to day things as they seem to accept a photo of the card thing but I wanted to go to Bulgaria in January for a new set of gnashers.

Edit - it's blooming easy. I just downloaded the app, registered my details an hey presto - all my QR codes are on there saying I'm a conforming vaxer.

Well done Boris!

Make sure you log in to the app just before you go as the code only lasts a month I think. Every time you log in to it it updates again.

Thanks for the tip.

I’m on the train and that app is bloody brilliant, you can do all sorts of stuff.

I’ve just donated all my organs
