I'm in a difficult position as to how to get my third booster jab - I definitely want to have it but the system has made it very difficult for me to do so.

My home address is in Cornwall but my uni address is in Cardiff, so they're 2 different NHS systems. I do support work so I qualified early, despite being in the 18-29 age group - my first jab was in Feb and my second in April. There were no issues with that because I was registered at my GP in Cornwall.

However, since returning to uni this year after lockdown I've since had to switch my registration back to Cardiff to pick up my regular prescriptions. I'm back home for Christmas and I've been eligible for the booster since late October but I'm now in an awkward position where I can't log on to NHS England to book it because I'm no longer registered. Similarly, I can't get the jab in Wales because the booking system is different, whereby the government sends out invitations for the jab with allocated appointments rather than patients booking it themselves, and they have no record of me getting the first or second jab because I had them in England.

The only solution would be to register back with NHS England but I'm a few months into the NHS Wales waiting list for the dentist so I don't want to jeopardise that. And I might try a walk in in England, but that's a pain with public transport and will they even let me in if they no longer have record of my first vaccinations?

I'd say that it would be well worth getting a train back to Cardiff for a day?

If it were me, I'd go to a local walk in - and simply explain the situation. If they refuse I'd state I won't be leaving until I get a booster and/or an appointment. Be polite but firm, explain your situation and if you get a jobsworth, stand your ground.

Go to a walk-in. Take your NHS number with you. It will all be recorded so no need to worry on that front.

Yes - all vaccinations will be on your NHS record which they can access with the number.

Don't know how reliable the information is on here:

Cheers for the advice. I have a positive update though, seems like I am included on the NHS Wales database because they've offered me an appointment for Saturday. Unfortunately I won't be in Wales until after Christmas so I'll need to reschedule but at least I know I can get it relatively soon.
