This one, the 4-1 defeat of Leicester in 1995, was like an oasis in the desert…..

That was the beginning of our winning streak of two PL matches in a row. We'll forget about the FA Cup match in between.

I can remember the coldest… Charlton away on New Year’s Day 1997. 1-1 draw, I was hungover and they even shortened half-time to stop the pitch freezing up.

Same location five years later wasn’t much fun either after the first ten minutes, their player should have been given a straight red mind you.

That decision relegated us.

Never been so cold, one of only a handful of games to be played that day.

Port Vale away in 1990 (?).

Open end, persistent rain, hangover, 0-5 defeat.

The consolation being that the year could only get better.

This one is my most memorable for all those reasons. Half the players were hungover too

It was a toss up as who was more hungover the fans or the players.

4-1 win over Millwall under Joe Royle back in 2003.

I was going to say Blackburn in '91, was convinced it was Boxing Day but apparently not having checked.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

If January 2nd counts mine would be 2nd January 1965 beating them from up the road 3-0 on my 14th birthday.

It was the bucketgate game when Keelan twice slipped at Churchmans end and dropped the ball and twice Gerry Baker put it in the net. The goalmouth got sanded at halftime.

Joe Broadfoot got our third in the second half with a great run and shot.

It most definitely does. The Leicester game was also 2 January.

It was 28th December, so not Boxing Day or NYD.

The Leicester 4-1 game wasn’t New Year’s Day.
