Nonsense - why would we have bid for a player when we had Morsy, Evans, Caroll, Bakinson, El Miz and Harper vying for two positions
The fact we loaned Harper out shows we know we had too many competing for two places and need them to get playing time.
I'm not saying Matete isn't better than what we have or wouldn't have been a good signing but was never going to be a signing for us, especially once we'd brought Bakinson in. |  |
