Clarkson's Farm. 13:50 - Feb 6 with 1517 viewsStochesStotasBlewe

Mrs SSB was called out to sort out a staffing crisis at 4 o'clock this morning, so rather than return to my bed, i scrolled through some channels on the telebox and came across Clarkson's Farm.
I get he's a marmite character, but having just binge watched series 1, that is some of the best TV i've seen in ages. Even done 4 hrs ironing in the process.
Great stuff.

We have no village green, or a shop. It's very, very quiet. I can walk to the pub.

I'm no fan of JC, and definitely not his previous output. My attitude softened towards him after watching that, really good TV.

Great show. I was sceptical at first but then ended up binging it. I enjoyed the mini game of trying to work out what the hell Gerald was saying!

Buying farms seems to be the new in thing for the loaded. Some Emmerdale chap too. Must be easier to make living off the land pay with a TV deal!
Perhaps I'll give him a chance now though.

JC does make a point that it is difficult to make a living off the land without the TV money. In fact I thought he was really hamming it up to make just that point all the way through.

Plenty of ‘real farmers’ have come out and said JC and the challenges the documentary highlights has done more for the farming community than anyone else has achieved in years.

Indeed. I do some gardening work occasionally at a farm and both farmer and partner have said exactly that.

He does a really good job of highlighting and explaining the many pitfalls of the industry, I learnt a lot from it and really enjoyed the 1st series

Seems to me that the Emmerdale guy has just got his farm to make a T/V programme. He also races cars throughout the spring/summer/autumn months which leaves all the burden on his missus. Not a fan of celeb culture, so suppose i'm biased anyway.

I think JC has owned this farm / land for a good many years and allowed it to be managed by others so I am guessing other have jumped on his coat tails.
