We were 15 points off the side in 4th, and they had a game in hand.

Today we’re 5 points off the team in 4th, no game in hand.

We shouldn’t worry about the gap to 6th, this bunching up is exactly what we need, especially with a few sides ahead of us in good form. Oxford in 4th are no less catchable than Sheff Wed in 8th, so this is a good position if there’s 6 clubs going after 3 spots. Rather than 4 clubs after 1.

It'll be good once those games played have evened up - I think a few are being played in the next 2-3 weeks.

It seems to be oddly fashionable to declare the season over as soon as possible these days. It was never over.

Truly impaired.

In fairness I was one of those who thought it was over.

But let’s be honest KM has done little short of a miracle getting so many points on board so soon, coming in after a demoralised and dismal humiliation to Barrow.

Things are progressing much as last season.

NTT20 podcast by PhilTWTD 12 Jan 2022 11:18
This season is more similar to last season than other years in respect that they're the only ones after Covid with clubs tending to run smaller squads, so that could potentially have an impact in the second half of campaigns.

From the top six at this stage last season, Portsmouth, Doncaster and Accrington all fell away in the second half of the campaign and finished outside the play-off/automatic places and Lincoln dropped from first to fifth.
