I suspect Root will want to give time in the middle to someone like Lawrence at next wicket. Kind of a confidence booster after the shocking winter. Haven't followed too much as been busy but seems like Lees got done by the same ball twice. |  |

Lees missed a fairly straight ball from Roach each time. Not good for an opener. He also unwisely reviewed each decision, such was his desperation to stay at the crease. He'll obviously stay in for the next game, but not an impressive debut. Roach will obviously keep going around the wicket to Lees, creating the angle and the doubt. | |
