The employee, from the Russian state-run Channel One, burst onto the set of the live broadcast of the nightly news on Monday evening, shouting: “Stop the war! No to war!”

The protester, who was identified by Russian media as Channel One employee Marina Ovsyannikova, was also holding a sign in Russian which can be interpreted as: “Don’t believe the propaganda. They’re lying to you here.”

Come on BDS, you're a bit slow, Steve_M posted it earlier in another thread, near the end of the first page.

According to the BBC, 800 were arrested today in Russia. Just how brave are those people? I just can’t imagine what level of courage of convictions and strength you need to do what they are doing when you know the outcome is going to be at best dreadful.

Amazing people.

I agree though, incredibly brave, well done her!

Worth reposting for those of us who haven't seen that thread.

Remarkable. I do hope this is a message that is getting through to the populace. There is a limit to the hold that a dictator can have.

Here's a REALLY disturbing example of the amount of repression going on, right now.

(Usual caveats about reliability of Twitter sources here)

I really don't know what I have just watched there. The camera crew are not arrested, their video is broadcast and those being interviewed are carted away regardless of what they are saying. The police are standing there ready to take the away and outnumber everyone else there. Something seems very odd about it.

There is a limit to how far the police can control the populace if the numbers prepared to protest is many times their number.

My only guess is that it's a non-Russian film crew and them suddenly 'vanishing' would generate more questions than it prevented.

Assuming that, the source video is reliable in the first place.
