This is a really good thread worth dissecting on the privileged, arrogant, conman the corrupt have foisted upon us.

It all feels fairly well timed when you read pieces like this one below, albeit it won't cut through to those who need to read it the most. The sheer waste of money, lives, time and resources thanks to a powerful minority really is tragic isn't it?

He was speaking to the House as a whole and the rotten state of politics. That’s the similarity. Even though Cromwell wasn’t much better.

Johnson and the Tories are as awful as anyone remotely sensible knew they would be. Hopefully the penny drops that this is what a rubbish political discourse and opposition also create. The front benches of Her Majesty’s Opposition and the supposedly independent and critical media engineered this because this is their politics too. They’re just angling for their go at power, influence and the money they can siphon off.

The right-wingers are a lost cause. But let’s stop listening to the hand-wringing, cheque-cashing grifters suggesting centrist tweaks and let’s get some actual policies on the table and even just a sniff of a new direction to give people some hope.

If you look over the channel to France, people now have a choice between neoliberalism that has failed and populism/fascism. And that’s after 5 years of someone “delivering” a new third way forward. We’re in the same boat but it’s just been obscured by Brexit. Without Brexit, our politics is amazingly even emptier and more pointless.

Sorry/not sorry for the rant. I just get exhausted by people thinking Johnson and the Tories are the disease, rather than the symptom. As if we’re only just realising it now and the simple answer is “Not the Tories”. No, the answer is serious, public-serving and accountable politicians (and a media that hold them to account).

Got time to say what he wants to say but no time to answer her questions.

Truly appalling individual.

That is an astonishing thread. Have Johnson’s handlers ever tried to give him media training. He comes across as a smug sulky teenager, smirking like an idiot.

And yet, you could play those clips on repeat on BBC and ITV and Sky all day long and a vast number of Brits would still react with “can’t trust Starmer, he talks a bit funny” or “but there’s a war on and Boris is doing a good job”

As with Trump over here, the people most directly hurt by him fall for the circus trick every fooking time.

I’ve literally heard that this week from a family member! Genuinely baffling how people see things

It's almost damning with faint praise.

Imagine the best thing being said about your job performance is that you're trying.
