..........................then why not hop on a bus and keep warm
Nothing to offer, mired in the mud of your own sleaze and incompetence ?
Then why not put out a photo of the naughty Mr Starmer eating a curry during the lockdown (or 2015 as it actually was) - and make sure you cut out the person in the photo beside him, Frank Dobson (died 2019)
Not sure if there is another Tory daft enough to re-post this
...............why if it isn't the ever dimwitted Mrs Dorries

Most prime ministers, most people even, would not consider being publicly embarrassed about a pensioner who rides the bus to nowhere, just to keep out of her cold house, to be an opportunity to brag about a minor local policy tweak they introduced fourteen years ago.
At one point he even said, in the span of two sentences, “We are doing everything we can… but we can do more.”
Utterly clueless about what to do, or even what he just said
"Johnson’s former editor at the Daily Telegraph, Max Hastings, warned in June 2019 that the “Conservative Party is about to foist a tasteless joke upon the British people — who will not find it funny for long.”
But it wasn't them, it was the stupid cretins who thought a serial incompetent, and an habitual liar with a known track record of failure would somehow change, that fostered this chancer on the rest of us

Just watched the interview; absolute genuine psychopath response, when hearing about an OAP who rides the bus all day to save money on heating her house and so she can eat more than one meal a day, to say “well I introduced that bus pass…”. I mean, who responds in that way? Faced with a tale of relative human misery and the first reaction is to take credit for her being able to ride the bus. Quite incredible.
The problem is that they're not a government in the typical sense of the word. Their sole purpose was riding into No 10 off the back of Brexit. And they haven't even got any answers for what's going wrong there (narrator's voice - Brexit is not done), let alone anything else.

Ah well, bacon sandwiches or something.
I don't know why I was surprised, but over the weekend I read that Priti Patel's father ran for UKIP about 10-15 years ago.
A man I believe that was born in India, who moved to England, raised his family, worked hard to build up his business, deciding to run for a party that genuinely hates people like him!
She makes a tiny bit more sense after reading that, even if she is trying to basically use the opportunities she has been given to stop people in her exact same position from getting said opportunities.

I suppose it's what a lifetime of being totally sheltered from reality will do to someone.
It's all just a game to him and many of his kind. They've never had to live it so they have severely limited empathy for others who are going through these things.
Maybe even that is being too kind to them really.

It's far too kind.
I am not a fan of the Royal Family or people being able to be born into such wealth, power or influence, but to be fair to the majority of the Royal's whilst they will never have any experience of being an ordinary man or woman struggling to make ends meet, they do at least have an understanding of the cultural and social issues the world over and empathy for people in those situations.
After all any of us could have been born into a rich family or to a drug addict mum and dad.
Being rich beyond the imagination is no excuse for ignorantly thinking that an Ethiopian father or mother unable to feed their child should have worked harder or just not conceived. These same people think food banks are there for benefit cheats and don't realise that normal hard-working people are using them because of the actions of the government.
I don't care how shielded you are from reality. Every adult on the planet knows how the lottery of life is unfair. It's just these egomaniacs have to delude themselves that they somehow earned being above others because the fact they were just plain lucky is too much for them to accept.

But India has a complex system when it comes to social standing and her family will have had some stature; Gujarati Patel has some status?
Without knowing her father's sentiments on social standing it's impossible to know, but assuming she's come from a strict background, (been pushed, done extremely well for herself), maybe there's an aspect of ingrained snobbery there and could explain why she seems to look down on people she considers to be lower than herself.
It's no different to our own Eton boys and their views on common folk is it.

Well make sure pater and all the servants turn out on Thursday to stop this woke nonsense from taking over.
I mean, what's it coming to when a chap cannot watch a bit of tractor porn, sexually molest a child or make a bit of money on the side ?
These Wokists will be forcing chaps to tell the truth in Parliament next.
I'm not sure what school these Old Wokists come from, but they should shut it done. Close it, and cancel all comment from them

Good point. I hadn't really considered the class system in India but that would explain elements of it absolutely.

The question is, was she appointed solely because she is thicker and more incompetent than Johnson
A look at Hancock, Rabb, Williamson. Dorries and the stick insect would suggest that is the case.
Having painted themselves into a corner, depending on the swivel eyed, bigot vote they are now stuck with appeasing it. So there is a need to find ministers who are so stupid as to be used for this purpose.
However, there is a feel of the dying days of WW2 in Germany about all this - where gangs of SS spent time hunting down odd deserters to publicly hang them as (a supposed) deterrent. Cynics might wonder if defending the fatherland was so important why not devote your time to that instead.
So we are seeing 'wrecking' actions being proposed and shoved through - which smack of spite, than any attempt at dealing with the mess they have caused.

"Chancellor Rishi Sunak has said it would be “silly” for the government to provide more help to families struggling with energy bills despite the mounting cost of living crisis"
"At one point he (Johnson) even said, in the span of two sentences, “We are doing everything we can… but we can do more.”
No idea at all, of what folk are facing and what should be done. The same level of incompetence that has dogged him all his adult life.
The days of ruffling his fair, pulling his shirt out or using the ever so carefully rehearsed stumble are over. Though he did try the extra long tie trick. It failed, as has he, so often in the past.
And as with Delboy and his hang gliding 'ability', his lies, and incompetence have come to the end of the road. After hiding from serious interviews, the day of reckoning finally came this morning. Not, as with Delboy and the blue yonder, but in No. 10 itself.
No more carefully staged photo ops, dressed in a hi viz jacket, and grinning inanely into the camera. This morning he was under the spotlight and suffering. A shallow, self centred blow hard, with no where left to hide.
This morning showed why he had spent so much of his political life hiding from being questioned. Nothing to offer but a bag of wind and a handful of party tricks,
If there is an election where you live, then go out and vote for whoever can defeat the Tories, and so send a message to those who can remove him.
Times up, fatboy.

Nope, not what I was thinking of. JC is history and irrelevant, which is presumably where you're coming from, and I was obviously referring to David Miliband anyway. I doubt the jewish raised Miliband could be described as a Jew hating anti semite. I've seen nothing to suggest he's an existential threat to all that is decent either. Although we are getting quite a lot of examples of the latter from the Tories these days.
Anyway, aside form the usual tribal whataboutery, isn't it shemefull that we have an OAP riding the buses to keep warm as it's cheaper than staying at home? What's happened to us? Nobody seems too worried about her plight either; more intersted in scoring points.
I saw a youngish guy outside Marks yesterday begging for food. He wasn't happy doing it and looked utterly humiliated. He was also filthy and looked frozen. I went back in to Marks buy him some dinner, but the main thing he wanted was a drink. He'd been there all day and I was the first person to stop to talk to him (this was about 7pm). He hadn't even been able to get a drink all day. As I say, what's happened to us?

It's because you mentioned Brexit.
It's like programming, if that word gets mentioned there's some kind of reflex that spits out something to do with JC who wasn't even in favour of the EU.
Apparently it doesn't need to be relevant or even make sense, it's like Brexit Tourette's.
