Pellet burner / heater 21:21 - Jul 5 with 910 viewsBarcaBlue

Does anyone have one and care to share their opinion? I'm doing up a house out in the sticks and am looking to put one in. I don't want a log burner as it will be a rental, and I don't trust people to only burn logs. It's just for a 50m2 space, not for hot water or radiators.

Any pointers appreciated. Most of them look quite ugly and industrial, some are wifi enabled, others with huge hoppers. I'm a bit lost scrolling through pages of heaters. Ta!

A couple of family members living in France have them. So far they have proven to be more efficient and more reliable than a wood-burning equivalent. When judging the size, consider if it needs space around it to function safely. They didn't say they needed space around them to me, but they did have a fair amount.

I'm sure others have more insightful comments, but hope this helps nonetheless.

They were put forward as the next big thing a few years ago, but they didn't catch on as expected.
Our local Specflue in Sudbury promote some really nice MCZ pellet stoves.

They are very specific on the pellets they use, moisture content is key. You can't just put any old pellets in.

Thanks, efficiency-wise they appear decent, also safer and less space than using logs.

i have a klover one (for hot water and central heating) and it's great. they do smaller ones that just heat the room - having them on a timer etc seems a big plus over a conventional wood burner. so far completely problem free.

And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show

Those are a lot smarter than the ones I was looking at here

I think they're quite popular in small commercial properties here and maybe why the design is so industrial.

We don't see many pellet stoves in the UK.
I really like them but customers still prefer multifuel stoves.
