That and then the semi final between Isner & Anderson in 2018 which took over 6 1/2 hours. Anderson won the final set 26-24. The Djokovic-Nadal semi final had also taken 5 1/4 hours, spread over 2 days. In 2019 a final set tie break was introduced at 12-12. this was changed to a 10 point tie break at 6-6 in the final set this year, which applied to all Grand Slam singles. |  |

IMO, tennis matches take far too long, with the exceeding of time between points (Nadal the prime offender), changeovers, general faffing, "toilet" breaks & injury time-outs (although no doubt Nadal's injury today was genuine). Hardly anyone has 5 hours to devote to watching any sporting fixture. | |
