This is one of the things that irritates me. The players don't sign those deals, the league or the competition do, in this case UEFA would have signed the broadcast rights.
To 'expect' a player to fulfil broadcast commitments treats the player like an employee of UEFA, and they aren't. I've no doubt that in these deals there is some kind of redress to compensate the broadcaster if players fail to fulfil the requirements of the contract.
Its all wrong. As in the OP, let them celebrate and then get them after the trophy lift. | |
